Tecnoseal 12 x 6 x 0.5 in Aluminum Hull Plate Anode

The Tecnoseal 12 x 6 x 1/2 inch Aluminum Plate Anode is a large hull anode for bolting below the waterline. Its size gives a long service life on bigger boats. It connects to the boat's bonding system to protect underwater metal.

Aluminum anodes protect in salt, brackish and fresh water, and they deliver more protection per pound than zinc. An anode is a sacrificial metal that corrodes in place of your drive, propeller and other underwater metal. Plate anodes are a common choice for protecting running gear tied into the bonding system.

Replace anodes when they're about half consumed, and never paint them, because paint stops them from working. Clean the mounting surface to bare metal before installing so the anode makes good electrical contact. Smaller plates and other anodes are in our marine anodes section.
