TALOS NMEA 2000 Network Lightning Detector

The TALOS SFD-1000-N2K is a lightning detector built for boats that plugs into the NMEA 2000 network. Alerts appear on every MFD on the vessel. It detects both cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground strikes, approaching or departing, from 25 nautical miles in.

It gives three alert levels at 25, 16 and 5 nautical miles, with both visual and audible warnings. An all-clear message follows 30 minutes with no strikes. TALOS uses the same detection technology found in expensive weather stations.

The unit installs hidden inside the boat with no drilling and no external power or wiring. Just plug it into the N2K network. Plan the mounting position around beam direction, switch access and cable routing before drilling or fastening the light in place. Browse more weather monitoring.
