Most strikes happen between noon and 6pm, exactly when a lot of time on the water actually happens, and this detector gives real advance warning of a storm up to 25 miles out, letting an owner head in before conditions turn dangerous rather than getting caught by surprise.

Keep the unit away from other electronic devices during mounting to avoid interference with its low-level signal detection.
