Description

The Spyderco Endura 4 in Gray FRN is the Emerson Opener version, a 3.81-inch VG-10 clip point blade in a gray FRN handle, made in Japan.

The Emerson Wave is the feature to understand. A hook on the blade spine catches the pocket edge as the knife comes out, deploying the blade during the draw rather than after it. On a blade this size that is a meaningful difference in how quickly the knife is ready to cut.

The Endura is the larger sibling to the Delica, and the extra blade length gives more edge for bigger jobs while staying a folder. The round hole is still fitted for a conventional thumb opening. VG-10 is a respected Japanese stainless, prized for a balance of edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance.

A lockback secures the blade with a spine-mounted release, and the FRN handle keeps the weight down despite the size. Explore more Lockback Knives.

  • Emerson Wave opens the blade as the knife is drawn from a pocket
