Spyderco Endura 4 G10 Folding Knife

The Spyderco Endura 4 (C10PS) carries the Endura's 3.8-inch VG-10 blade with a combination edge, half plain and half serrated. The Endura is Spyderco's full-size Japanese lockback, sized for people who want real reach in a light folder. Its leaf-shaped, full flat ground blade slices well and has a strong, usable tip. Overall length is about 8.75 inches open, which gives a lot of working edge in a knife that still clips neatly in a pocket.

The SpyderEdge section near the handle grabs rope and webbing, and the plain section takes care of everyday cutting. VG-10 is a cobalt-containing Japanese stainless steel that sharpens to a fine edge and handles moisture well. The large Round Hole lets you open the blade with one thumb, even with gloves on. Serrations are especially helpful on boats, where line and straps are cut more often than food.

A back lock holds the blade open, and a press on the spine bar unlocks it. The pocket clip can be moved for tip-up or tip-down carry, left or right. Spyderco builds the Endura in Seki, Japan, a city known for blade making. Wipe the blade after cutting food or working near salt water, and oil the pivot once in a while. Spyderco's back lock design has been refined over many years and is known for strength and reliability. The serrated section sharpens best on a triangular ceramic rod, one scallop at a time.
