Description

The Spyderco Delica 4 in Gray FRN is the Emerson Opener version, a 2.9-inch VG-10 clip point blade in a gray FRN handle, made in Japan.

The Emerson Wave is what separates this Delica from the standard model. It is a hook on the blade spine that catches the edge of a pocket as the knife is drawn, opening the blade on the way out without a thumb ever touching the hole. Ernest Emerson developed it for exactly that, and it is licensed onto this Spyderco.

The round hole is still there for a normal thumb opening when the Wave is not wanted. VG-10 is a respected Japanese stainless, prized for a balance of edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance. A lockback secures the blade with a spine-mounted release, and the FRN handle keeps the knife light for all-day carry.
