The Springfield 2-7/8-Inch Adjustable Mainstay 12-14.5 In is a heavy-duty adjustable pedestal that raises the seat from 12 to 14-1/2 inches. That is a common range for center console and bay boat helm seats. It uses Springfield's 2-7/8-inch keyed Mainstay post, with air-assisted height adjustment that locks where you set it.

The keyed post resists rotation and flex better than a smaller round post, so the seat stays aligned with the wheel even when you stand up and sit down hard in rough water. Two and a half inches of travel lets you raise the seat for a better view when running and lower it for idling or trolling.
