The SOG Instinct has a 2.3-inch satin 5Cr15MoV stainless clip point blade at 5 inches overall, a black stainless and G10 handle and a hard molded nylon sheath.

A neck knife lives or dies on how it hangs, and at 5 inches overall the Instinct is short enough to sit flat under a shirt without printing through. The handle combines a stainless core with G10 scales, which keeps the whole knife thin while still giving something to grip beyond bare metal.

5Cr15MoV is a softer stainless chosen for corrosion resistance and quick sharpening rather than long edge retention, which suits a knife worn against the body in all weather.
