Description
The Shakespeare Style 5241 3-Foot Low Profile VHF Antenna earns its keep on bass boats, center consoles, and any vessel where staying compact and out of the way matters more than reaching for extra height. A heavy-duty stainless steel whip adds real stability at high speed rather than whipping around wildly the way a lighter whip antenna would.
The housing itself, a chrome-plated brass canister, keeps the antenna on-frequency rather than letting it drift over time, and inside sits a coil of tin-plated copper wire, sealed shut, handling the core electrical work, protected from moisture intrusion for long-term reliability in an exposed, high-vibration mounting spot.
Installation has one specific requirement worth knowing upfront: the mount needs a center hole to pass through the included 15-foot RG-58 cable, so it's not compatible with every generic ratchet mount on the market without checking that detail first.
3' height, 7 MHz bandwidth, 1.5:1 SWR at 156.8 MHz, 50W maximum input, omnidirectional. Includes 15' RG-58 cable with PL-259 connector. Suggested mount: Shakespeare Style 4187, 4188-S, or 4190 Ratchet Mount (sold separately). Backed by Shakespeare's 2-year limited warranty.
Worth comparing against our other marine antennas.
