The Shakespeare Galaxy 5225-XT 8-Foot VHF Antenna delivers 6dB of gain in what Shakespeare positions as its best 8-foot antenna at that gain level, taking the classic Style 5225 electrical design and rebuilding it inside a stronger, sturdier, stiffer radome.

That upgraded radome exists specifically for demanding mounting locations, hardtops, T-tops, and radar arches, where an antenna sees real punishment from high wind loading and the vibration of running at speed. Inside, the same phased array design running 5/8-wave elements, built from brass and copper for strong conductivity, carries over unchanged from the standard version, so range and reception quality stay exactly what Shakespeare's Galaxy line is known for despite the tougher housing wrapped around it.
