The Shadow-Caster SC3 is a 3.6 inch hard-anodized aluminum underwater light in Great White, producing 3,000 lumens at 24W, rated IP68.

Hard-anodized aluminum rather than bronze is the difference, and it is a real one. Aluminum is considerably lighter and costs less, but it must not be fitted to a hull with dissimilar underwater metals. Bronze is the safer default on a mixed-metal hull. Aluminum suits an aluminum hull or a fiberglass boat with a consistent metals policy below the waterline.

The clear gel-filled construction runs through the whole unit rather than sealing only the outer edge, so there is no internal space for condensation or water to occupy under stress. A tempered glass lens with the hard-anodized housing resists acetone and solvents as well as salt.

Transient surge and reverse polarity protection extend working life, and thermal throttling allows safe operation briefly out of the water. It runs from a simple on-off switch through to full lighting effects across a range of control interfaces. Explore more underwater lights.
