The Shadow-Caster SC3 is a 3.4 inch bronze underwater light in Great White, producing 3,000 lumens at 24W, rated IP68.
The gel-filled construction is what separates the SC3 from a conventionally sealed light. Clear gel fills the entire unit rather than sealing only the outer edge, so there is no internal void for condensation to form in. Sealed lights fail when a gasket lets go under pressure or temperature cycling. A gel-filled unit has nothing inside for water to occupy.
The tempered glass lens and bronze housing stand up to acetone and other solvents used around boats, not just salt water. That matters when removing growth or adhesive residue from a hull fitting, where a polymer lens would craze.
