Twelve amps is the smallest SDC converter, for a modest group of 12V equipment on a 24V boat. Electronics, lighting and instruments are what usually stay 12V, and those rarely add up to more than this.
A 20 to 35 volt input range is wider at the top than the other SDC units, reaching well above a 24V charging voltage. That headroom means the converter keeps regulating while an alternator or charger is pushing the bank hard.
