Description

The Roper Tobacco Stockman has satin-finished 1065 carbon steel clip, spey and sheepsfoot blades with a brown jigged bone handle, nickel silver bolsters and an inlay shield, closing to 3.88 inches.

Each of the three blades has a job: general cutting falls to the clip blade, the sheepsfoot's straight edge and blunt spine excel at controlled push cuts, and the spey blade's flatter edge and rounded tip is purpose-built for detail work and skinning tasks a pointed blade handles less cleanly. 1065 is a plain carbon steel rather than stainless, taking a keener edge and coming back faster on a stone, though it darkens over time and needs to be kept dry.

Each blade opens on a nail nick, the traditional way, backed by a slip joint, its spring tension standing in for a mechanical locking bar. Brown jigged bone gives grip where a smooth surface turns slick, and the grain varies from piece to piece since bone is a natural material. Explore more Stockman Knives.

  • Three-blade design combines clip, spey, and sheepsfoot blades
  • 1065 carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless
  • Brown jigged bone varies from knife to knife
  • Nickel silver bolsters with an inlay shield
