Ronstan 80mm TriggerSnap Quick-Release Shackle

The Ronstan 80mm TriggerSnap Quick-Release Shackle is made for quick rigging connections where one-handed attachment and release are useful, including situations where the shackle may still be loaded. The TriggerSnap mechanism can be opened and closed with one hand, a useful feature when the crew is managing a sheet or steering with the other. If the 80mm fitting must be released while loaded, Ronstan provides for the trigger to be actuated with an aluminum spike so fingers can stay clear of the latch. The 80mm version gives riggers a clearly defined size choice within the TriggerSnap range.

The main components are heat-treated investment-cast 15-5PH stainless steel, selected for high strength and corrosion resistance. Ronstan proof-load tests each TriggerSnap individually before it leaves production. A production code is stamped into the shackle for traceability, which is useful when hardware is inspected as part of a regular rigging program. The design keeps strength high without adding the bulk associated with a much heavier conventional fitting.

Use the shackle only with attachment points and connecting hardware that are appropriate for the intended load and articulation.
