For heavier boats, the Powerwinch Utility Series 2,500 lb Winch combines two-speed gearing with an 8 inch crank arm. It comes fully assembled and ready to mount. Only the 3,200 lb model sits above it in the Utility Series. Fully assembled means it bolts on right out of the box.

On a two-speed winch, the high gear pulls the strap in quickly for most of the retrieve, and the low gear trades speed for pulling power on the last stretch onto the bunks or rollers. The 8 inch crank arm gives more leverage on each turn, which helps with heavier boats and steep ramps. Precision gearing improves pulling capacity while reducing the cranking effort needed. Proper gearing makes the difference between an easy retrieve and a struggle at the ramp.

A dual-bolt clamp coupling keeps the crank arm from loosening or coming off the pinion spindle, and an integrated zerk fitting makes it easy to grease the pawl and ratchet gear.
