Description
The Performance Metals Yamaha Bracket Anode fits Yamaha 4-stroke outboards from 300 to 425 hp. It replaces Yamaha 6AW-45251-00. The bracket anode protects the engine mounting bracket, which sits in the water on most installs.
Performance Metals makes its Navalloy aluminum anodes to military specification MIL-DTL-24779, and they work in salt, brackish and fresh water. An anode is a sacrificial metal that corrodes in place of your drive, propeller and other underwater metal. Aluminum anodes protect in salt, brackish and fresh water, and they deliver more protection per pound than zinc.
Mounting hardware and installation instructions are included. Clean the mounting surface to bare metal before installing so the anode makes good electrical contact. Other kits and individual anodes are in our marine anodes section.
