The Onyx Kayak Fishing Vest is an adult universal foam vest in tan and gray, in 400D nylon oxford with zippered fleece-lined pockets.

The high foam back is the detail that matters for kayak use. It clears a high-back kayak seat instead of being pushed up the wearer's neck by it. A conventional vest against a high seat back rides up and forces the head forward, which is uncomfortable within minutes and unsafe over hours.

Breathable mesh covers the lower back where the seat contacts, and neoprene shoulder pads stop the straps digging in during a long paddle. The low-profile paddle-specific foam stays clear of the stroke, with six adjustment straps to cinch the fit.

Storage is worked out for fishing rather than added as an afterthought. A large cargo pocket takes a handheld radio or long-nose pliers.
