The Old Bear Classical Carbon has a 2.75-inch satin carbon steel clip point blade with a walnut handle and a safety ring lock, closing to 4 inches. Made in Italy.

The safety ring is a twisting collar at the pivot, rotated a quarter turn to block the blade open or shut. It is the traditional Mediterranean locking method, older than the liner and lockback, and it works with no springs to fatigue. Carbon steel takes a keener edge than stainless and resharpens with less effort, at the cost of a patina that develops with use. On a traditional Italian folder most owners consider that darkening part of the knife.
