Description

The Old Bear Walnut Grafting has a 3-inch satin AISI 420 stainless grafting blade, a walnut handle and a safety ring lock. Made in Italy.

A grafting blade is a specialized shape, straight-edged with a squared tip, used to cut clean scion and rootstock joints when propagating fruit trees and vines. That flat edge makes the long even slice a graft needs, which a curved belly cannot. The safety ring is a twisting collar at the pivot that rotates to block the blade, the traditional Mediterranean locking method, holding the blade open or shut with a quarter turn.

Walnut darkens with handling, and Old Bear works in Maniago, the northern Italian cutlery town. Explore more Traditional Knives.

  • Straight grafting blade for clean scion cuts
  • Safety ring collar locks the blade open or closed
  • AISI 420 stainless resists sap and moisture
  • Walnut handle, made in Maniago, Italy
