The Morakniv Basic 546 has a 3.5-inch satin stainless clip point blade at 8 inches overall, a gray polymer handle and a gray polymer belt sheath. Made in Sweden.

Gray is the plainest colorway in the Basic range, where the rest run red, teal, blue and Dala patterns, and it is the one that reads as pure tool rather than as anything chosen. The Basic is Morakniv's plainest pattern in every other respect too, sold to Swedish tradespeople on the argument that a knife needs a good blade, a comfortable handle and nothing else.
