Mastervolt Mac Plus 24/12-50 CZone Charger

The Mastervolt Mac Plus 24/12-50 is a DC-DC charger taking a 24V source and delivering 50A of controlled 12V output to a service battery.

Smart alternators are the problem this solves. Modern engines with start-stop systems vary alternator output to save fuel, and a service bank wired directly to one never reaches full charge. A DC-DC charger takes whatever the alternator gives and delivers a proper charging profile regardless, while engine-run detection stops the starter battery being drained when the engine is off.

Stepping 24V down to 12V also suits a boat with a 24V engine system and 12V house loads, which would otherwise need a separate charging path. The 3-Step Plus algorithm supports flooded, gel, AGM, spiral, lithium-ion, traction and user-defined profiles including LiFePO4.

A fanless aluminum housing runs silently, and the unit doubles as a stabilized DC power supply for sensitive loads. MasterBus, CZone and NMEA 2000 are all supported for monitoring and automation, and units can be paralleled where more capacity is needed.
