The Marbles Large Pocket Compass is a 1-3/4 inch brass compass with a revolving black face, a reproduction of the original Marbles pattern.

At 1-3/4 inches this is the large version, and dial size is the whole argument. A bigger face is read faster and more accurately, and the graduations are far enough apart to hold a bearing rather than guess at one.
