The Ka-Bar Heavy-Duty Warthog has a 6.5-inch black finish 1085 carbon steel wide blade at 12.25 inches overall, grooved black Kraton handles, a lanyard hole and a black Cordura and leather belt sheath.

The blade is wide rather than long for its size, which puts more steel behind the edge and more weight forward. That makes it a chopper as much as a cutter, where a narrow 6.5-inch blade would be neither. 1085 is a plain high carbon steel, tough under repeated impact and easy to bring back with a file in the field.

Grooves cut into the Kraton give the fingers fixed positions, which matters on a heavy blade where the hand needs to know where it is without looking.
