Description

The Ka-Bar Cutlass Machete has an 11-inch powder-coated SK-5 carbon steel blade in a black Kraton handle and a Cordura sheath. Made in Taiwan.

At 11 inches this is a short machete, closer to a heavy camp knife than a brush blade. That length trades reach for control, so it packs smaller and swings accurately in tight cover. SK-5 is a Japanese high-carbon steel comparable to 1080, tough under impact and simple to resharpen in the field. Powder coating protects the surface, which matters on carbon steel.

Kraton is a soft synthetic rubber that grips firmly when wet and absorbs some of the shock traveling back up the handle on each strike, noticeably easier on the hand than hard plastic over a long session. Explore more Machetes.
