Jabsco Ballast King Bronze 15-GPM Pump without Switch

The Jabsco Ballast King Bronze 15-GPM Pump without Switch is the reversible Ballast King sold without the reversing switch. It moves about 15 GPM to fill or drain wake tanks, with a bronze body and a 1-inch hose barb. Reversing the polarity runs it in the other direction, so one pump handles both filling and emptying.

This version is often the right choice when replacing a failed pump on a boat with a factory ballast control panel, since the panel already handles reversing. If your boat has no controller, you will need a double-throw reversing switch to run it both ways. Wire it to match the old pump's polarity for fill and empty, and use the fuse size Jabsco recommends.

Test both directions with the boat in the water before heading out. Inspect the neoprene impeller at the start of each season and replace it if the vanes are cracked or stiff, since a worn impeller slows filling noticeably. The version with a switch included is also in our bilge and water pumps.
