Description
The Icom IC-M94D Handheld VHF Marine Radio with AIS/DSC is a VHF handheld with an integrated AIS receiver, GPS and Class H DSC. Real-time AIS traffic shows on the display, and the AIS target call function sets up a DSC individual call to a specific vessel. A distress button on the back sends a distress call fast.
It puts out 6 watts, and the 2400 mAh lithium-ion battery runs about 10 to 11 hours. Icom's custom speaker delivers a loud 1500 mW for noisy maritime conditions. The navigation function guides you to any of 50 saved waypoints, such as fishing spots, or to a man overboard position.
Float'n Flash keeps the radio on the surface with a flashing red LED if it goes overboard. Pressing the distress button while Float'n Flash is active sends a MOB distress signal instead of a general one. It is IPX7 waterproof and uses Icom's common, intuitive interface.
