The Icom IC-M94D Handheld VHF Marine Radio with AIS/DSC folds simplified AIS and DSC functionality into one handheld, real-time AIS traffic appears right on the display, and the AIS target call function makes setting up a DSC individual call to a specific vessel quick, with a dedicated rear panel button for sending a distress call fast.

6 watts of transmit power extends real communication range, and a supplied 2400mAh Li-ion battery (BP-306) delivers roughly 10 hours of typical operation. Icom's custom high-power speaker pushes a loud 1500mW of audio output, standing out clearly above wind and engine noise where a standard handheld speaker would get drowned out.
