The Hoffner Snap has a 3.5-inch VG-10 stainless blade in a black finish, partially serrated with a black G10 handle, a liner lock, pocket clip and lanyard hole, closing to 4.88 inches.

The edge is split, plain toward the tip and serrated nearer the handle. That puts the controlled section where detail cutting happens and the aggressive section where the hand pushes hardest, which is what rope and webbing need. VG-10 is a Japanese stainless prized for balancing edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance, a step above the 8Cr steels common at this size.
