GROCO BP-4 2.6-Inch x 7.5-Inch Poly Strainer Basket

The GROCO BP-4 is a polyethylene replacement basket for larger raw-water strainer housings, including ARG-1210 and SA-1000. Its nominal dimensions are 2.6 by 7.5 inches, distinctly different from the slimmer BP-2 basket. It is intended to restore the removable debris-catching component while retaining the existing strainer body.

GROCO assigns BP-4 to an ARG-1210 with 1-1/4-inch pipe connections and to the SA-1000 with one-inch connections. That difference illustrates why matching only the plumbing pipe diameter can lead to the wrong basket; the actual housing and basket size control fit. The polymer construction and lifting handle support routine removal for cleaning.

Measure the old basket if its labeling is illegible, then verify the strainer identification against GROCO's compatibility chart. With the intake isolated, clear collected debris from the empty chamber before seating the new insert. Do not force the strainer cover down over a basket that does not sit freely in place.
