Gator Guards SkegShield Skeg Guard for Yamaha

This Gator Guards SkegShield is made for Yamaha outboards, covering the skeg at the bottom of the lower unit. The skeg is the first part to hit sand, rocks, and ramps in shallow water. A stainless guard protects it from that damage, and it can also repair a skeg that is already chewed up.

It is built from 18-gauge, mirror-polished 316 marine-grade stainless steel, with a reinforced lower edge where impacts happen. Shearable mounting bolts are made to give way in a hard strike before too much force reaches the gearcase. A drain hole keeps water from being trapped inside the guard.
