Gator Guards SkegShield Skeg Guard - Mercury Mariner

The Gator Guards SkegShield for Mercury Mariner outboards puts a polished stainless steel shield over the lower unit's skeg. It takes the hits from shallow bottoms, rocks, and launch ramps so the skeg does not. On a skeg that is already worn or broken, it also works as a repair.

The guard is 18-gauge 316 stainless steel with a mirror polish and a reinforced bottom edge. If the motor strikes something hard, the shearable bolts are made to fail first and protect the gearcase. A built-in drain hole lets water escape from inside the guard.
