Gator Guards SkegShield for Mercury Outboard

For Mercury outboards, this Gator Guards SkegShield adds a stainless steel layer of protection over the skeg. Boaters who fish shallow flats or beach often wear down skegs quickly, and the guard takes that abuse. It can also cover and restore a skeg that is already damaged.

Gator Guards makes the shield from 18-gauge, mirror-polished 316 marine-grade stainless. The lower edge is reinforced, and the mounting bolts are shearable to help limit gearcase damage in a severe impact. A drain hole keeps water from sitting against the skeg.
