Fireboy-Xintex Propane Detector w/Solenoid - Round

The Fireboy-Xintex Propane Fume Detector with solenoid valve is a 2-3/16 inch round black unit alarming at 20 percent of the LEL.

This is the round-bezel version of the propane detector, against the square 2-5/8 inch model with the same function. The round display fits a standard gauge-style cutout, which suits a helm or bulkhead already carrying round instruments rather than a square panel opening.

The solenoid valve closes the gas supply automatically when a leak is detected, which is the function that separates this from an alarm-only unit. Propane sinks and collects in the bilge, so a leak left running while somebody investigates is the dangerous scenario. Cutting the supply removes it.

The alarm sounds at 68 dBA with a red LED at 20 percent of the lower explosive level, well before the concentration becomes hazardous.
