Fireboy-Xintex Fixed Heat Detector with Base

The Fireboy-Xintex Fixed Heat Detector with Base uses a thermistor to monitor the air temperature around the detector. It is designed to recognize both a fixed high-temperature condition and the rate at which temperature is rising. This sensing approach makes it useful in dirty or smoky spaces where airborne contamination can make smoke detection less suitable.

An open-web casing allows surrounding air to move freely across the thermistor. A microprocessor stores temperature readings and compares them with preset values to determine whether the alarm threshold has been reached. The same processing evaluates the speed of the temperature rise so the detector can respond to a developing heat event as well as a fixed limit.

The detector uses a polarity-sensitive two-wire supply and powers up in less than 20 seconds. It includes an integral alarm indicator with 360-degree visibility, a remote test feature, and a one-second alarm-reset time. The housing is flame-retardant polycarbonate with nickel-plated stainless steel terminals, and the detector is rated for operating and storage temperatures from -40°C to 70°C.
