The ElitEdge folder has a 3-inch Damascus blade in an abalone shell handle, a combination that puts it firmly in display territory. The knife closes closing to 4.25 inches with a liner lock, extended tang, lanyard hole, pocket clip and a brown leather belt sheath.
Abalone is cut from the inner shell layer, where light striking the surface breaks into shifting blues and greens that move with the viewing angle. Every handle is different because every shell is. Damascus is forge-welded from alternating layers of steel, folded repeatedly and etched so the pattern shows, and it too comes out different on every blade.
