Description

The Egis 160A 24V Automatic Charging Relay Plus has two engine-isolation inputs, a Deutsch DTM harness and top-access DIP switches.

The shorted-cell lockout is the protection worth understanding, and few relays offer it. A battery with a shorted cell sits at a low voltage and never recovers. Without lockout, the relay keeps combining the banks and the good battery pours current into the failed one indefinitely, which flattens both and can overheat the dead cell.

Two independent start or engine-isolation inputs support multiple engines or separate charging systems. On a twin-engine boat that lets each engine's circuit be isolated properly rather than treating both as one source.

Top-access DIP switches set voltage thresholds and active options without removing the unit from its mounting. The sealed construction uses stainless hardware and high-temperature materials with thermal-overload protection, and a Deutsch/Amphenol DTM harness simplifies the control wiring. A start-assist input allows manual combining. Explore more battery charging accessories.

  • Lockout prevents combining onto a shorted cell
  • Otherwise a good battery drains into a failed one
  • Two engine-isolation inputs for twin installations
  • DIP switches accessible without unmounting
