Description

The Egis Programmable 160A 12V Automatic Charging Relay has dual engine-isolation inputs and accessible DIP switches for threshold setting.

Programmable thresholds are the distinction from a fixed-threshold relay, and they matter more with modern batteries. Lithium and AGM banks combine and separate at different voltages than flooded lead-acid. A relay locked to one set of thresholds will either combine too early or too late on anything other than what it was designed around.

Dual start or engine-isolation inputs support multiple engines or independent charging sources. A start-assist input allows manual combining through a remote switch when extra cranking current is needed.

An optional lockout prevents the relay combining if one battery has a shorted cell, which stops a good bank draining into a failed one. The sealed unit uses stainless hardware and high-temperature materials with integrated thermal-overload shutdown, and a Deutsch/Amphenol DTM connector harness handles the control wiring. Explore more battery charging accessories.

  • Programmable thresholds, not fixed
  • Lithium and AGM combine at different voltages
  • A fixed relay combines too early or too late
  • Optional shorted-cell lockout
