The CJRB Shale has a 3.13-inch AR-RPM9 blade in black stonewash with a blue and orange G10 handle and a crossbar lock, opened by thumb stud.
A crossbar lock is a spring-loaded bar that drops across the blade tang, released by pulling it back from either side. It is fully ambidextrous and lets the knife be closed without fingers crossing the blade path, which a liner lock cannot do. AR-RPM9 is Artisan's powder steel, pressed from steel powder rather than cast, giving a finer and more even grain than a conventionally made steel of the same recipe. It holds an edge well and sharpens predictably.
