Description
The Blue Sea Systems PowerBar 1000 is an eight-stud bus bar rated 1,000A continuous, with 5/16-inch terminal studs.
Eight studs in a shorter footprint than the twelve-stud versions, at the same 1,000A rating, since the bar's cross-section rather than its length sets the capacity. That makes this the choice where the connection count is modest but the current is not, which describes most installations with one large inverter.
Five-sixteenths is the smaller stud size and matches the more common marine cable lugs, so checking the lugs already crimped on decides between this and the 3/8 version. A mismatched lug never seats properly, and a loose connection at these currents becomes a hot one quickly.
The stepped two-elevation design increases wire density and aligns with compatible fuse blocks, letting some installations eliminate short connecting cables entirely. The bar can be shortened for constrained spaces, bi-directional end caps gang multiple bars together, and a snap-on insulating cover meets applicable ABYC and USCG requirements. Explore more bus bars and power distribution.
- Eight studs in a shorter footprint, same 1,000A
- Cross-section sets capacity, not length
- 5/16 studs match the more common lug size
- Aligns with fuse blocks, removing jumper cables
