Description

The Blue Sea Systems 8366 is a 30A AC rotary switch panel using the 9010 two-pole selector, choosing among three 120V sources plus Off.

Three source positions is the difference from the two-source panels, suiting a boat with shore power, a generator and an inverter feed. As inverters become standard equipment that third position gets used more often than it once did, and adding one later means replacing a two-source selector entirely.

Red reverse-polarity LEDs warn when an incoming source is wrongly wired, and green power-available LEDs show which sources are energized before a transfer is made. Seeing which sources are live before selecting one is what prevents transferring onto a dead supply and wondering what failed.

An Off position sits between selections, giving a positive mechanical break rather than a live-to-live transfer. The panel is heavy 5052 aluminum with a two-part polyurethane finish. Over-current protection must remain elsewhere in the system, since this selects sources rather than protecting circuits. Explore more marine switch panels.

  • Three sources: shore, generator and inverter
  • Adding a third later means replacing a two-source panel
  • Polarity and power-available LEDs before transfer
  • Positive Off between selections
