Blue Sea 8032 AC 30A Toggle Source Selector Panel

The Blue Sea Systems 8032 is a 30A AC toggle source selector with two 7238 double-pole 30A breakers and a factory-installed lockout slide.

Thirty amps is the shore service most boats under about 40 feet are wired for, which makes this the common size rather than the 50A version. Matching the selector to the actual inlet rating is the point. A 50A selector on a 30A service protects nothing extra and costs more.

The lockout slide is installed so both breakers can never be closed together, which prevents backfeeding a generator onto shore wiring or the reverse. That is a mechanical impossibility rather than a procedure, and it is the difference between a selector panel and two separate breakers.

Maximum panel amperage is 50 amperes even though the breakers are 30A units, so the panel itself is not the limiting factor if the service is later upgraded. A red reverse polarity LED and two green 120V AC LEDs are fitted, buses are installed and pre-wired, and the 8031 basic AC label set with 30 labels is included.
