Blue Sea 8236 DC Digital Ammeter with Shunt

The Blue Sea Systems 8236 DC Digital Ammeter displays current from -500 to +500 amps and ships with a 500 amp shunt.

Current only, with no voltage reading, for installations where voltage is already displayed elsewhere on the panel. Buying a single-function meter when the other value is covered avoids paying twice for the same reading and leaves a larger display for the number that matters.

Reading both directions shows charge as well as draw, so it works as a load meter and as confirmation that the alternator is actually delivering. A meter reading only positive current cannot tell a bank being charged from one sitting idle.

The standard unit operates in the negative side of the circuit only, and positive side installation such as at an alternator requires a Shunt Shifter.
