Blue Sea 8077 AC Main Only Toggle Breaker Panel

The Blue Sea Systems 8077 is a main-only toggle AC panel with a 7238 double-pole 30A breaker, measuring 3.75 inches high by 2.63 wide.

Thirty amps suits the shore service most boats under about 40 feet run, so this is the common size against the 50A 8079. Matching the main to the actual inlet is what matters. A 50A main on a 30A service means the dock breaker trips first, moving the fault outside the boat's control.

Switching and circuit protection are combined in one device, so the breaker doubles as the main switch with nothing extra to install. The trip free design cannot be held on during a fault current condition, so nobody can override the protection by holding the toggle in.

At 2.63 inches wide it is a tall narrow unit, fitting a strip of bulkhead rather than a panel space. Nominal voltage is 120V AC with a maximum of 277V AC or 65V DC.
