Description

The Blue Sea Systems 7717 ML-RBS is a 24V remote battery switch rated 500A continuous and 2,500A cranking, with a manual override knob.

The manual override knob works with or without control power and includes a locked-off position for servicing. That locked-off setting is what makes the switch safe to work behind. Without it, a remote switch can be closed from the helm while someone has their hands on the terminals.

Twenty-four volts is the specification to confirm, since the 12V ML-RBS models will not serve a 24V system whatever the current rating. Silver-alloy contacts handle switching live DC loads, which is harder on contacts than AC because there is no zero crossing to extinguish the arc.

The magnetic operating system draws only a small current in the steady On or Off state, rising briefly while changing position. Tin-plated copper studs give conductivity and corrosion resistance with extended length for multiple cable terminals, and a remote LED output can indicate switch state. Explore more battery switches.

  • Locked-off position makes it safe to work behind
  • Otherwise the helm can close it during service
  • 24V, not interchangeable with the 12V models
  • Silver-alloy contacts for switching live DC
