Description
The Blue Sea Systems 7700100 ML Solenoid is a 500A magnetic-latching switch for 12V circuits, with a manual knob and a Deutsch DTM connector.
The manual knob is what this adds over the 7701, allowing operation with or without control power and locking in the Off position for servicing. Between the two, the question is whether anyone will ever need to work on the circuit or operate it with a dead control feed. If so, this is the one.
The bi-stable magnetic mechanism draws no continuous coil current in either steady state and uses power only while changing position. A conventional solenoid holding closed pulls current the whole time, which on an unattended boat slowly flattens the bank it is meant to be switching.
A Deutsch DTM connector gives a sealed low-current control connection, and a dedicated LED output can drive an optional remote indicator. Tin-plated copper studs and silver-alloy contacts handle live-load switching, rated 500A continuous, 700A intermittent and substantial short cranking loads with appropriately sized cable. Explore more battery switches.
- Manual knob with a locked-off position, unlike the 7701
- Works even with no control power
- No coil current in either steady state
- 500A continuous, 700A intermittent
