Description

The BEP Marine PVC-Coated Continuous Duty Solenoid switches a 12V load remotely at 65A continuous and 100A for ten seconds, equivalent to Cole Hersee 24117-01.

A solenoid lets a small dash switch control a large load without the load current ever reaching the dash. That keeps heavy cable in the engine or battery space where it belongs, instead of running a pair of thick conductors up to the helm and back. Less copper, less voltage drop, and no high-current connection behind a panel.

Continuous duty is the specification to check. A continuous-duty solenoid stays energized indefinitely, where an intermittent-duty one is built to close briefly and will overheat if left on. Using the wrong type is a common mistake and the failure is a burnt coil rather than an obvious fault.

Sixty-five amps continuous with 100A for short intermittent periods covers most remotely switched DC equipment aboard. A PVC-coated steel case protects the body in exposed positions, copper signal and contact terminals make the connections, and integrated mounting holes fix it near the load or power source. UL and CE approved. Explore more bus bars and power distribution.

  • A small dash switch controls a large load
  • Heavy cable stays out of the helm entirely
  • Continuous duty stays energized without overheating
  • 65A continuous, 100A for ten seconds
