Three positions rather than the four-position version means there is no separate accessory-only setting. Accessory power comes on with the ignition here, so running electronics at anchor means having the ignition circuit live too. Where that matters, the four-position switch is the one to order.

For a straightforward engine-start installation the three-position sequence is the conventional arrangement and there is nothing to gain from the extra position. Sealing uses O-rings and ultrasonic welding rather than a gasket, giving an IP67 rating that survives an open helm.

A high-impact nylon body resists the corrosion that eventually seizes a metal-bodied switch in salt air. The integrated Deutsch connector is keyed and sealed for a serviceable connection, it is tested to SAE J259, and it fits panels up to about three-eighths of an inch on 12V or 24V systems.
