Description

The BEP Marine continuous-duty solenoid provides remote switching for equipment that draws more current than a small dashboard control should carry directly. It can be used with Electro-Scan MSD systems and other high-current circuits that need an operator-controlled remote connection. Continuous-duty construction allows the coil to remain energized during normal operation instead of being limited to brief starter-style use. An insulated ground gives the installer more control over the coil circuit and grounding path.

The steel housing protects the internal switching mechanism, while brass hardware provides robust cable connection points. The solenoid is capable of handling a much larger short-duration make current than its continuous load, which helps it tolerate the initial surge of demanding equipment. Its published intermittent make-and-break ratings also provide useful design guidance for circuits that cycle rather than remain continuously engaged. UL and CE certifications give installers additional documentation for regulated electrical projects. The intermittent make rating reaches 750A, while the break rating is 100A. The manufacturer specifies a 10-second on period followed by 30 minutes off for that intermittent condition.

  • Continuous-duty construction for remotely controlled high-current circuits
  • Insulated ground for flexible coil wiring
  • Steel housing with brass connection hardware
  • UL listed and CE certified
  • Cross-references to Cole Hersee 24059

Mount the solenoid close enough to the high-current source to keep large conductor runs practical while protecting it from direct physical damage. Use a properly fused control circuit for the coil and size the switched conductors for the actual equipment load.
