BEP Marine 12V Two-Position Ignition Switch

The BEP Marine two-position ignition switch provides a keyed on/off control for marine and vehicle electrical systems. Its battery-ignition design is suited to harsh environments where a conventional light-duty key switch may be exposed to vibration and moisture. A coded tumbler lock helps prevent casual operation by anyone who does not have the key. Two keys are included so the operator has a spare available from the start.

The switch uses screw terminals rather than loose pigtails, giving the installer a direct and serviceable connection at the rear of the panel. Its compact threaded body can be secured through thick dashboard material, which is useful on fiberglass and molded helm panels. The electrical rating is intended for low-voltage ignition and control duty rather than direct high-current starter-motor switching. The unit also cross-references to Cole Hersee M-489 when an equivalent replacement is needed. The ignition contacts are rated for 10A at 12V DC. Rear connections use #8-32 screw terminals, and the switch can be mounted through panel material up to 1 in thick.
