The Barton Marine Silver/White Up to 20 ft Boat Boomstrut supports the boom while working alongside the boat's existing kicker or rope vang. It is sized for boats up to 6m (20ft) and a maximum boom-tip weight of 6. Its flexible spring action lifts the boom as vang tension is released, helping maintain sail shape in light air and keeping the boom supported when the sail comes down. Because it mounts independently of the existing kicking strap tackle, it can be added without replacing the boat's current vang hardware.

Patented flexing spring provides fast response and a constant force for vang efficiency. The boomstrut’s lightweight, low-profile design features two flexible coated fiberglass rods which provide the force to support the boom. Pulling the boom down with a conventional kicker causes the Boomstrut to flex; releasing straightens the rods, thereby lifting and supporting the boom. Eliminates friction and sliding parts. Less weight and windage. To eliminate drilling, the Boomstrut’s mast bracket can be slotted into your mast’s luff groove.
